Soup Kitchen
Our Soup Kitchen has served over 500,000 meals during its 27 years of existence. They serve approximately 18,000 meals a year, and provide over 50,000 carry-out cups of soup each year. Meals are served on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Special Thanksgiving and Easter feasts are also served. The Soup Kitchen is open through the year, except for the month of August. Ms. Linda Porter is the Director.

Food Pantry
Families are served by our Food Pantry, which is open every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Food Pantry, located
in the basement, is accessible through the Madison Street door
or the elevator to the Social Hall. It takes 14 volunteers to run
the Pantry - contact Karen Peterson if interested in volunteering.
Upper Room Program
Our Upper Room program is a residential program for men who are recovering alcoholics and narcotic addicts. This program is now over 27 years old and has served hundreds and hundreds of individuals. Ben Noell is the Interim Director.
 
Stone Soup Community
Open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Services include Family Development, Budget Counseling and Job Search Assistance.

Additional Opportunities
* Box Tops for Education Labels: Bring your labels to the church office as 10 cents for each
label is donated to the Bashor Home.
* Pop Top Tabs for Ronald McDonald House: Bring your aluminum can tabs to the church
office as these go directly to the Ronald McDonald House.
* Plastic Lids: Products, such as milk, have the plastic lids which may be brought to the
church and given Kennedy School.
* Used Items for Goodwill: Please consider bringing in your used items (from clothes to lamps...)
to the church and place in the Goodwill boxes. For each box filled a $5 coupon is awarded to
an Upper Room Graduate so they may purchase items from Goodwill!!!!
* UMCOR Well Digging in Africa: FUMC member, Pearl Rogers, has family living in an
African village where there is no fresh water. First Church's goal is to raise $17,000 to
sponsor a well to be dug in their village.
