Music at First United Methodist Church

First Church has long been known for its music. Twice a year the Sanctuary Choir performs a cantata with members of the South Bend Symphony. In addition there are special guest choirs that sing in our worship or on a Friday evening. Recent choirs have included: The Notre Dame Glee Club, The St. Mary's Women's Choir, and the Bethel College Choir.

Sanctuary Choir: Wednesdays 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. (Ed Gergesha Room)
Laudate Ringers: Wednesdays 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.  (Sanctuary)

Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir sings during the 11:00 Worship.  (Sept. to May). Our Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 P.M.

Laudate Ringers
The Laudate Ringers, our adult bell choir, plays once a month at the 11:00 A.M. worship service, and rehearses Wednesdays from 6 to 7 P.M.

Kid's Praise Musical Camp    (July 30 - August 5, 2012)
Kids' Praise, which rehearses 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for one week, presents its musical on the first Sunday in August each year.

The Children's Choir of Michiana
The Children's Choir of Michiana, composed of 40 of the finest young singers in the South Bend area, is co-sponsored by First United Methodist Church and Musical Arts Indiana and rehearses in our sanctuary every Tuesday evening at 6:30 P.M.

Our musical director is Dr. Wishart Bell.
