MUSIC AT FIRST CHURCH
First Church has long been known for its music. Twice a year the Sanctuary Choir performs a cantata with members of the South Bend Symphony. In addition there are special guest choirs that sing in our worship or on a Friday evening. Recent choirs have included: The Notre Dame Glee Club, The St. Mary's Women's Choir, and the Purdue Varsity Glee Club.
FALL MUSIC SCHEDULE START UP:
Sanctuary Choir: Wednesday, August 29, 7:30 p.m.
Laudate Ringers: Wednesday, September 5, 6:00 p.m.
Taize Choir: Sunday, September 9. 8:15 a.m.

We have the following musical organizations:
- The Sanctuary Choir sings during the regular schedule. Our Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 P.M. (will resume in late Aug!)
- The Taize Choir sings once a month during the early Chapel Service.
- The Laudate Ringers, our adult bell choir, plays once a month at the 11 A.M. service, and rehearses on Wednesdays from 6 to 7 P.M.
- The Covenant Choir for children sings once a month in both services, and practices on Sunday mornings from 9 to 9:40 A.M.
- Kids' Praise, which rehearses for only a week, presents its musical on the first Sunday in Augest each year.
- The Children's Choir of Michiana, composed of 40 of the finest young singers in the South Bend area, is co-sponsored by First United Methodist Church and Vesper Chorale and rehearses in our sanctuary every Tuesday evening at 6:30 P.M.
Our musical director is Dr. Wishart Bell. Our organist is Dr. Betty Woodland.
